With us now basking in the festal season of Easter, I can think of no better time to share a series of Easter themed vestments coming from the nineteenth century French tradition that I have collected over the years. Most of these designs contain an image of the Agnus Dei, the Lamb of God, which of course is symbolically apropos to the Easter season particular, coming with reference to Christ and his redemptive sacrifice on the Cross.
My goal here is little more than to share some of the beauty of this particular French style, showing some of its variations. There is need for little more comment, other than to wish all of our readers a very Happy Easter season.
