The following illustrations are taken from a book entitled Ecclesiae Militantis Triumphi Sive published in 1585. The book is a unique collection of illustrations of the scenes of martyrdom of various Christian martyrs. Each page includes more than one martyr, labelled accordingly with a letter in each illustration with a legend below. Each page also shows the Roman emperors in whose reign they were martyred.
Personally, this is the first time I've come across such a collection of illustrations -- though I have long sought after an edition of the Martyrlogium Romanum which included precisely this sort of thing. At any rate, I offer it for whatever its worth.
