The following mitres belong in the private collection and chapel of an Italian friend who will, of course, remain anonymous. It shows two classically designed mitra pretiosa (precious mitres) decorated in a style that was commonly seen through the period of the 16th through first half of the 20th century. Mitres of this period relied on the use or organic and floriated motifs, much like the vestments and textiles of the era as well.

The use of stones as coloured ornament was also quite common during this period (as well as earlier) where precious mitres are concerned.
